Mudge And Berg Capture Big Apple Open

Still riding the momentum of their rallying semifinal win from 1-2, 4-10 Sunday afternoon, top seeds Viktor Berg and Damien Mudge convincingly defeated three-time defending champions Paul Price and Ben Gould 15-12, 8 and 9 Monday night in the final round of the Big Apple Open, hosted by the New York Athletic Club in midtown Manhattan. In so doing, Mudge and Berg avenged their final-round losses to Price/Gould in the finals of this event each of the past two years and consolidated their two-week-old Briggs Cup championship in the 2009-10 season-opening tournament.
